Who We Are and Why

A woman with curly red hair and large hoop earrings sitting at a table, holding a framed photo of her grandparents in a pool, with a variety of snacks, a plant in a skull-shaped vase, and books on the table, against a teal background.

Empanadivas is a mystical mobile kitchen, born from love and guided by memory.

This venture is a tribute — first and always — to my best friend Anna, who left this world too soon, and to the women whose presence in the kitchen is still felt, long after they’re gone.

They fed their people with whatever they had, and somehow it was always enough. Their stories live on through every folded empanada, every scent that stops you mid-step, every bite that feels like coming home.

Our mission is simple: to offer deeply flavorful, hand-prepared food that’s both affordable and unforgettable — no fees, no fluff — because everyone deserves something warm and good, even on their hardest days.

We’re here for our neighbors, for the culture, for the community we feed and grow with.

And we’re here for the ones we miss, the ones we carry.

We are honored to welcome you home. Here at our table, there’s a place set for you, always.

Under the sun we shine.

With all our love, corazón y mucho mucho sazón,

Dani and Jim

We’re so glad you’re here. Whether you’ve got a question, want to book the truck, plan something beautiful, or just say hey—we’d love to hear from you.

We check every message ourselves, and we’ll get back to you as soon as we’re done feeding the crowd (or chasing our kid around).

Con mucho mucho amor, Dani and Jim
